    Glory Days...Share your stories.

I know you want to share your stories of those "Glory Days" as a student athlete in the LPD so I thought I would start a thread to give you all a chance to share and in some way shed some light on your thoughts and opinions. Just to be fair I will go first, remember it's not bragging if it's fact. Now I don't have the time and space to tell you about all of the trophies, plaques, medals, ribbons, sashes or gold stars I received in high school, and my juvenille records are sealed. I thought I would just share a couple of highlights from each sport at JJK.

Track- I ran circles around the 400m State Champion one time while he was stretching, and I helped a girl's long distance runner from JIB with her flexibilty.

Basketball- I made a half court shot at the buzzer to put us on the board in a shirts/skins game against the girls during gym. (I just couldn't stay focused) and I once called Coach Bentley "Dave" he really liked me.

Tennis- I cought Coach Newman getting a BJ from KR but don't worry kids he got fired and arrested some years later. (He was the tennis coach)

Cheerleading- I helped as many JV and Varsity girls with spirit fingers

Wrestling- I personally distributed 500 Hustler Busty Dusty seasons greeting cards to all the students and faculty during Christmas break. You're Welcome. and I just about got arrested with the 152 pound state champion for running halls naked when we bumped into a whole group of girls from the biology club. "No more than the average plummer" Stanley

Baseball- I hit a home run off legendary left hander Doug Bates during batting practice, and I hit for the cycle against JIB one time with no underwear on (There was a photo in The Coalfield of me slidding into second...it hurt)

Football- I once ran out of bounds against Clintwood and took out the whole cheerleading squad. There was mud, blood, and pom poms flying everywhere (Like most good parties) I felt bad until we lost. I placed 1st runner up in the Varsity Drag-Queen Beauty Pageant. I should have won but my thong was too tight.

Academic- I never read a book, I didn't do my own homework, I cheated on all of the tests and I got into college without taking my SATs. Serious or not the truth shall set you free...Your turn...

Oh man I just got flashback and remember the Busty Dusty fiasco. It's a wonder Kelly still even has wrestling. You remember when You all went and played Lee County and they had some kinda competition. But anyways you out ran a older running back on your team in a race. I wont say his name but I give him a hard time about it from time to time. I think You were a freshman then.

Yeah, I remember that... I was a freshman and that dude tried to get me to race him the rest of his high school days If you ever run into that guy tell him I'm still the fastest white boy on two feet. (But I might have to stop and smoke a cig, like this cross country runner I knew back then As for band camp, I did know of a girl who could play a mean skinflute. Come on people that's the whole idea, we are all here to share and share alike.
